By Decree of the President of the Higher Council for Public Works n. 220 from July 9th 2015 the Guidelines for identification, qualification and acceptance testing of fiber-reinforced polymers (FRP) was approved for the structural reinforcement of pre-existing buildings.”, approved with positive opinion n.115/2013 from February 19th 2015 by the First Section of the Higher Council for Public Works. As for the use of Fiber-reinforced polymers (FRP) composites for the reinforcement of pre-existing buildings reference can still be made to the what provided under point 8.6 of the Technical rules for Construction of DM 14/01/2008. As for the reinforcement of pre-existing buildings with fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites, only materials certified pursuant to the Guidelines can be used.
